Ned Blackhawk is a historian and an enrolled member of the Te-Moak Tribe of Western Shoshone. He is the Howard R. Lamar Professor of History and American Studies at Yale University, where he studies the histories of Native peoples in North America. His work has earned the Frederick Jackson Turner Award and the 2023 National Book Award for Nonfiction.
