Daniel Mendelsohn is a critic, translator, and memoirist, the Charles Ranlett Flint Professor of Humanities at Bard College and Editor at Large of The New York Review of Books. A longtime contributor to The New Yorker and the NYRB, he won the National Book Critics Circle Award for his family memoir The Lost and is acclaimed for his translations of C. P. Cavafy and Homer's Odyssey.
